Continuing the Elise’s minimalist theme, it is based on the Sport Elise, the only changes being made are the ones deemed necessary to make it legal !
Still using Rover’s 1.8 litre K series engine, a stiffer shell and wider track will develop 177 bhp, with an option to give 190 bhp.
With a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds, it will be quicker off the mark than it’s brother the V8 Esprit. At 100mph the down force developed will add 80kg to the car’s weight, with specially designed Yokohama tyres the cornering will be precise.
The ‘feel’ will be kept alive by saving weight and not adding ABS or power steering.
